Artist Statement

I first realized I wanted to become an artist while I was pursuing a degree in communication. I was studying abroad in Seville, Spain and recognized that my passion was art. The family that I lived with had a few artist-friends and I was able to visit their studios and see the process of creating art. This was my first trip to Europe and I was inspired by all of the patterns and textiles around the city. Because of this experience I was influenced to study textile design. When I came home I began to sew and realized how much I loved all of the different fabrics for their colors and patterns, but I finished my degree in communication and began to work full time at Anthropologie.
At Anthropologie, I worked as a merchandiser which enabled me to be creative and work with my hands everyday. Everyone I worked with was inspiring and motivational and they had all gone to art school. After working there for almost a year, I realized that I wanted to go back to school and pursue my true passion.

Clay Animation Timeline

Research Paper

For my research paper I have decided to write about clay animation. I'm interested in learning about the history of clay animation and how different techniques have been developed. Although this is an art form that began in the early twentieth century, it has become a digital art.

My First Day Back At College

This is my first day back at college. I graduated with a B.A. in Communication from UPenn, but I have decided to follow my passion and go back to school to obtain a B.F.A. Although this wasn't the easiest choice to make, I feel confident that this is the right path for me.
